Injuries can be received easily and should be viewed seriously. Tarantulas are delicate and can harm them selves. Many injuries acquire during inappropriate handling or items within the enclosure collapsing upon them.
Tarantulas' lack coagulant, this leaves them with no ability to scab over open wounds. Bleeding wounds can be treated with a non-scented talcum powder. After directly applying the talcum powder to the wound place the tarantula back into the enclosure for observations. Do not remove the talcum powder because you risk reopening the wound.
Regularly check on the health status of the injured tarantula and make sure water is provided. Do not immediately feed with living food items allow the wound to heal. Fluid loss can attract other insects to further irritate the wound. A molt can heal or recover the esthetic look to a tarantula. New legs or pedipalps can emerge from a molt if needed due to injury.
